Post by Nate Bishara, Founder/Editor-In-Chief of Over Magazine

We here at Over Magazine have taken our time to properly announce our new schedule during these ever-changing times of the global COVID-19 pandemic due to uncertainty and to give our team a break during these hardships. Over Magazine consists of students, essential workers, and the most unifying adjective of our team --creatives. This pandemic has hit the entire world very hard and during these changing times, we hope that everyone has been able to take care of themselves and properly make the switch to predominantly online forms of communication/work. Over has always been built on the foundations of collaboration and conversation, and although these are complicated times we know that our team will be able to accomplish wonders. That being said, now that Over Magazine is getting back on track, we have put together a new schedule fit for the foreseeable future.

Our 3rd Edition “Movement” which was scheduled to come out by the end of this current month, has been moved to being published towards the early-to-mid-October 2020 time frame (TBA) and we will be extending submissions for it until August 8th, 2020. For more information on that click HERE.

Our 4th Edition will be done similarly and will be published during the start of the following Spring 2021 (Dates TBA).

During this time period of Quarantine and Isolation, we have launched “Isolation Art”. It is a way for any artist who has created something, in any medium of art, during this period of quarantine and isolation to get it featured on our Instagram. While we are all stuck in quarantine, we think that it is important for us as artists to maintain our creative minds! Our submission email is

OverMagazineSubmissions@gmail.com

All we require is your Name, Instagram @‘s of those involved, a good resolution file of your work (JPEG, PNG, MP4, and Word Docs work best), and an optional artist statement! We will be looking through weekly and posting some of our favorites!

Finally, we have Datura.

Flyer by Joseph Williams

Datura is a VR exhibition hosted by the founder of Bloom Collective, Joseph Williams in collaboration with Over Magazine. The exhibit will include photography, graphic design, fine art and we will be accepting 3D models. File types: JPEGs, PNGS, PDFs, GLB, GLTF, and OBJ can be accepted.

The VR exhibit will be live on the Art Steps website and the Art Steps app on May 27th and it will be uploaded online for free use past that date. The exhibit will be accepting submissions from April 25th to May 23rd. Keep in mind that the show's focus and foundation lie in the inherent beauty that can be found in the dark. The exhibit's title “Datura” refers to a genus of 9 flowers under the Solanaceae family, also known as the Nightshade family. Daturas are also known as moonflowers and only bloom at night. These times are especially dark and we hope to inspire others to look for the beauty around them during the global COVID-19 crisis. So we ask that you bloom with us in these dark times.

During the launch exhibit, we will be accepting donations to a GoFundMe that will help keep Over Magazine and Bloom Collective alive.

If you are interested in submitting to the Datura. VR exhibit you may click HERE.

Thank you all so much for your patience and remember to stay creative while you #StayHome
